Dear LJLCA members;

It is time again to plan and prepare for the 93rd season of offering worship to the Lake James community residents and visitors. What a privilege we have to be able to share the message of God’s love through Jesus, the Christ, at the ‘little white chapel in the woods’.

The first order of business is to plan the cleanup of the Chapel grounds and facilities. We have scheduled the cleanup for SATURDAY, MAY 1, 2021 at 9:00 A.M. The rain date will be Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 9 a.m. Please plan to attend if you are able and bring any yard tools and other supplies you feel necessary that might be helpful for ground maintenance and facility cleanup.

The 2021 Spring membership meeting is scheduled for Sunday, May 2, 2021 at 1 p.m. at the Chapel. (The tentative meeting agenda is on back of this letter.) I would ask that you be prepared to meet for a couple of hours, because there are some agenda items that may require consider discussion; parsonage renovation & land issue.

We hope that you may want to place flowers on the altar for some Sunday service. If so please contact Alberta Melcher at 260-749-1064. The price is approximately $40 and will be finalized by Memorial Day. Order early to reserve your special day.!!!!! Contact Carol Bruick at dabruick@gmail.com if you want to help out as a Sunday greeter.

At our 2020 Fall meeting we had several people volunteer to share their talents to give LJLCA some online media presence. They have developed an email address (lakejameslutheranchapel@gmail.com), a Facebook page (lakejameslutheranchapel), and a Website (www.lakejameslutheranchapel.com). Please check them out. All emails will be transferred to the President at this time.

Communication is easier by email, so if you have received this letter through the mail, then I would ask that if you have an email address that you are willing to share that would be welcomed. Send it to me, Linn Kracht at ldkracht@gmail.com.

Last summer was unique because of some changes warranted by the national coronavirus pandemic. We give thanks to God that we were able to continue providing a Christ centered ministry at the Chapel. We seek to be God’s servants, guided by the Spirit, as we offer a worship opportunity to the lake community.
